Congress is bowing to pressure from the IDSA to prevent this bill from becoming law. HR 741 is not yet on the calendar for action.  Only you can persuade Congressman Pallone to put it there, with your phone calls and by coming to this protest.

How to get to Congressman Frank Pallone’s Office at
504 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740

Go to Directions & Transportation Information =>

Note: on the Directions and Transportation Information page, we have set up a link to a ride sharing forum for people who need a ride or who have space available.

PROTEST SITE
Pallone’s office is on a corner, Main St and Morrell St with 6 ft wide sidewalks on both sides. We plan to line up single file in front of Pallone’s office and around corner. There are no overhangs so people should bring umbrellas if it rains.

PLAN FOR THE DAY
We will stand with signs – click here for printable slogans
http://www.nyclymesupport.org/posters.htm
We will also have periods of time where we will chant – handouts with chants will be provided.
For people walking by we have flyers to distribute to them with bill and info and asking them to contact Congressman Pallone. We don’t expect a lot of people to walk by.

BATHROOM
We have to rely on local eating establishments for restroom use. Keep in mind they may prefer we buy something.

DRESS
Casual – wear Lyme green if possible.
Please nothing outrageous. We need to demonstrate we are reasonable people and not the “quacks” the IDSA makes us out to be.

RESTAURANTS
Within a couple blocks including Chinese, Pizza, and a convenience store. For those driving there is a Quick Check shortly after you turn onto Broadway.

SEATING
There are no benches and we are not allowed to line the sidewalks with chairs. For people who are too sick to sit on the curb we have about 10 folding chairs, 1 wheelchair and vans available at protest site for people to sit in.

PARKING
There is parking on Broadway and some parking on the side streets, Morrell St. and Morris Ave. There is also a free lot with a 2 hour limit on Branchport Ave. two blocks away, but it is small and busy.
